Startup Madeira and UMa host Hotel-up event in Funchal ><\/h3>\n

July 6, 2017 - Jesuit College<\/h4>\n

B-Guest<\/a>, Climber<\/a>, Infraspeak<\/a>, TeamOutLoud<\/a> and VPS<\/a> are the five Portuguese startups connected to the hotel sector that decided to join to create the Hotel-Up (www.hotel-up.pt), a consortium with The objective of boosting the hotel sector in Portugal.\n\nSimilar to what happened in Lisbon (31 January) and Vilamoura (4 April), now Madeira will host this event, which is organized as part of a partnership between Startup Madeira, the University of Madeira and the consortium of startups linked to the hotel industry, Hotel-up.\n\nThe event will take place on July 6, 2017, Thursday, at the Jesuit College in Funchal (Rua dos Ferreiros, 9000-039) between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., where 5 actual case studies will be presented to show the concrete impact that these products are having in the hotel industry.\n\nThe Hotel-up consortium appears in a context of the Golden Age that is currently happening in the hotel industry sector which is characterized by an increase in the volume of tourists (increase in demand) and hotel revenues, at the same time representing a challenge and an opportunity for Hoteliers invest in new technologies to further enhance their offerings and make their operations more efficient. It is in this scenario that five Portuguese technological startups linked to hotel industry have come together to contribute to the modernization of this important sector of the Portuguese economy.\n\nAccording to Felipe Avila da Costa, founder of Infraspeak, \"the combination of highly qualified human resources, a strong tourism market and an entrepreneurial ecosystem that increasingly encourages and supports entrepreneurs, places Portugal in a privileged position to lead innovation in this Sector \".\n\nAs a result, the five startups have teamed up to give their customers more value by jointly selling and interconnecting their products, sharing best practices and other joint actions that bring visibility and efficiency to businesses and customers.\n\nAna Ventura, founder of TeamOutLoud, says that \"by sharing best practices and knowledge we will be better at adding value to our customers.\"\n\nThe Startups, which together have 67 collaborators and 5.6 million in financing, currently work with 290 hotels in hotel Groups like Vila Gal\u00e9, Pestana, Four Views, Savoy, Intercontinental, Bairro Alto Hotel, Discovery Hotel Management (DHM) among others. Startups, although recent, already operate in 5 countries, and is expected to expand to more markets.<\/p>\n
