2022 marks the 25th anniversary of Startup Madeira.
25 years of entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity and enthusiasm.
25 years supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
From the entrepreneurship projects, to local and international acceleration programs, to the incubation of companies, startups and projects and to all the initiatives that are part of Startup Madeira's DNA, this year we celebrate 25 years where ideas have always gone beyond paper.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Startup Madeira is celebrating all entrepreneurs, their stories and created solutions, not only for the Region but also for the world.
It will always be "more than ideas...".
More than ideas... | Feb 14th
As a kick-off to the 25th anniversary celebrations, a conference “More than Ideas…”, was held, which took place on February 14 at the Savoy Palace.
A morning filled with 24 speakers covering a wide range of topics such as: the future of technology, the digital world, remote work, startups and investments. Celebrating entrepreneurship, the spirit of innovation and the sharing of knowledge, successes and failures, were the main challenges of this initiative.
During this morning, the programs, projects and initiatives, developed over the last few years by Startup Madeira were also celebrated.
The conference was attended by more than 450 participants, including entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, partners and the entire community.

Connecting the dots | Feb 14th
February 14th ended with a sunset moment: Connecting the dots.
An event that brought together digital nomads, entrepreneurs, investors, community managers and the local community with the main objective of connecting everyone in one place – the true meaning of Connecting the dots.
A relaxed networking event ending a working day in the best way.

Women in Tech | March 8th
After the conference “More than Ideas...”, Startup Madeira held the thematic session: Women in Tech on March 8th. An event that gave stage to local and international entrepreneurs and experts in the areas of technology, computing, fintech, innovation, sustainability and startups.
Sharing knowledge, challenges, perspectives and national and international experiences set the tone for this session.
Among the topics covered we had: the crypto world; the construction of innovative solutions; the role of education in the development of future generations; sustainability; social impact and the creation of purposeful ideas.

Imagination Conversations | March 22-25
The international initiative Imagination Conversations was promoted in Madeira, in the week of March 22nd to 25th, through Litróf Consulting, in partnership with the John Dos Passos Cultural Center, Startup Madeira and the digital nomad community.
This initiative focused on discussing the impact of creativity and imagination on the various themes that surround us, took place in Ponta do Sol, at the Cultural Center. It allowed the participation of entrepreneurs, researchers, community managers, the curious and creative.
The University of Madeira hosted on March 31st at 2:00 pm, the “Imagination First” session. This initiative took place in Amphitheater 3, on the Penteada Campus and was supported by the John dos Passos Cultural Center, Startup Madeira and the Digital Nomads Madeira Islands community.
The session focused on students and teachers and was facilitated by Scott Marshall Brandon, author of the book Imagination First. The initiative explored how imagination, creativity and innovation work within the fields of culture and education. The way the modern market thrives when focused on interaction, as well as the myths around imagination were also adressed.
Trust, Talent & Transformation | 22nd June
Startup Madeira, in partnership with PwC, organized on june 22nd, 2022, a thematic session dedicated to technology, talent and digital transformation. The event took place at the auditorium of Museu da Casa da Luz | Funchal.
On stage, we gathered 13 speakers that took on topics related to the technological area will be addressed: from talent and requalification, cybersecurity, digitalization and innovation, with the presence of local and national entrepreneurs, partners and curious.
