For the second consecutive year, Startup Madeira is once again partnering with EIT Food, by organising the local event EIT Food - Startup Awareness @ Madeira Islands. This themed event aims to empower entrepreneurs and the local agri-food ecosystem by facilitating the sharing of knowledge about global trends, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

On 2 December, from 14h to 18h, o the Pestana CR7 Hotel will host this event, which is intended for a diverse audience, including startups, entrepreneurs, investors, companies and organisations from the food sector and HoReCa channels, universities, research centres and laboratories, government bodies, associations and agricultural cooperatives.

Part of a set of initiatives driven by EIT Food, an initiative co-funded by the European Union, this session aims to generate greater and deeper awareness about what startups are, how they operate, the opportunities they offer, the challenges they face, and why they are important in transforming sectors such as agri-food.

Innovation, technology, cooperation, education, sustainability, transition and inclusive access to healthy food are some of the topics that will be addressed during this session. The structure is designed to balance dynamic, inspirational, informative and interactive moments, culminating in a networking space, while upholding the pillars of EIT Food in order to foster the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. 

This session is co-funded by EIT Food and developed locally by Startup Madeira, with the support of the Direção Regional de Agricultura e Desenvolvimento Rural, DIG-IN e START-EAT-UP.
