Startup Madeira is pleased to announce the eighth edition of theMadeira Dev Community, featuring guest speaker Pedro Campos  for a talk taking place on July 28, from 18:30 to 19:30 pm, at Startup Madeira (Penteada Campus, Tecnopolo, Floor -1).

Pedro Campos is a Full Professor of Computer Engineering and Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Madeira and Scientific Director of WowSystems. With a distinguished international career, he served as an Adjunct Professor at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University (2008-2017), was Vice-President of ITI, and has been a visiting researcher at institutions such as Aalto University. Co-author of the reference book "Introduction to Interface Design", Pedro has authored more than 200 scientific publications and supervised over 80 advanced academic projects, including master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral research. In 2021, he was awarded the prestigious Silver Core Award by IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing, under UNESCO) in recognition of his global contributions to the field of Human-Computer Interaction.

By attending this talk, participants can expect a fascinating behind-the-scenes journey into the creation of highly complex video games. Led by Pedro Campos, the session explores the perfect meeting point between the magic of entertainment and technology through the theme"Lights, Camera, Emotion! The Magic and Technology Behind ‘Hanno’ and ‘The Kause’'". Drawing on his extensive academic background and more than 200 scientific publications, Pedro will demonstrate how Human-Computer Interaction plays a crucial role in the design, development and success of demanding titles such asHanno. This is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the technical and emotional processes that bring projects of this scale to life!
