We, Startup Madeira tem o prazer de anunciar a nona edição da Madeira Dev Community, com o orador convidado Teresa Alvadia  para uma talk que terá lugar no dia 21 de agosto, entre as 17h00 e as 18h00, online.

Teresa Alvadia is the General Manager of Infinity Games, where she leads the Human Resources, Finance, Business Development and Institutional Relations departments. She joined the studio in 2022 as a People Specialist and, over the course of three years, progressed through the roles of Head of HR, Finance & Business Development before assuming her current position. Teresa holds a Bachelor's degree in Management from the University of Évora and a Master's degree in Human Resource Management from ISEG, where she recently completed a postgraduate qualification in Accounting and Taxation. It was not a particular game that brought her into the gaming industry. Rather, she found her way into it by chance, fell in love with the sector, and stayed, a happy coincidence, as she describes it.

The Other Side of the Table: What the Person Hiring You Sees

You know how to code... now what? Technical skills are only half of what the industry looks for. In this session, Teresa takes a seat on the other side of the table and sheds light on what really happens when a team is hiring: how a CV is reviewed in just 30 seconds, what sets successful candidates apart, how game studio teams are structured, and which skills help professionals grow, or hold them back, during their first years in the industry. By the end of the session, participants will have a clear understanding of how to present themselves to the job market and how to manage their own professional development within the sector. There will also be time for questions, including the uncomfortable ones.
