“Building The Future” prepara o país para um futuro digital

Madeira will be present at the 3rd edition of this event, to be held from January 26 to 28, 2021

Startup Madeira is partner of the 3rd edition of "Building The Future", an event led by Microsoft and developed by imatch that brings together technology, leadership and education. Since its first edition, Building the Future has established itself as the largest digital transformation event in Portugal and returns in 2021 to build the vision, strategy, foundations and code needed to create your future, highlighting the importance of education as a catalyst for the economy in the digital age.

It will be an event organized in a hybrid format with live streaming transmission from MAAT - Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, in Lisbon.

This initiative aims to support organizations and society in this context of economic recovery, through a 100% digital experience, with full access to the interventions and reflections of the most renowned national and international experts who will help to think about innovation, the strengthening of digital skills and new business opportunities of the future. Thus, during the three days of the event, there will be the possibility of interaction with the audience, speakers and partners, on a MatchMaking platform, supported by artificial intelligence.

There will be several conferences and workshops on innovation, sustainability, inclusion, education, digital skills and new business opportunities. Confirmed to participate are José Neves, CEO of Farfetch and founder of the José Neves Foundation, Julie White, Corporate VP at Microsoft, Tupac Martir, founder of Satore Studio, Aubrey de Grey, from Biomedical Gerontologist, Pascal Finette, Singularity's Chair for Entrepreneurship & Open Innovation.

Education is a pillar of the economy and the third day of the event will be entirely dedicated to digital transformation in this area through Edu Day, developed in partnership with the José Neves Foundation. The goal is to respond to the current needs of students, teachers and schools, as well as to re-imagine the challenges of the future, following the motto "Empowering learning anytime and anywhere".
The EduDay will feature sessions aimed at all audiences, with speakers such as David Kellerman, professor at the School of Engineering at the University of New South Wales in Sydney; Neuza Pedro, coordinator of the master's degree in education and digital technologies at the Institute of Education at the University of Lisbon; and Pedro Santa Clara, director of the 42 Lisbon programming school.
