GameJam+ Madeira é uma maratona intensiva de 48h de desenvolvimento de jogos, desenvolvida no âmbito da iniciativa global GameJamPlus.
We, GameJam+ Madeira decorrerá simultaneamente com todas as GameJam's organizadas em todo o mundo. Às 19h de 6ªfeira, dia 17 de outubro, a organização irá revelar os temas e as linhas orientadoras que as equipas terão de ter em conta aquando o desenvolvimento do jogo.
Between 17 de outubro (6ªfeira) e october 19th (domingo), as equipas irão focar-se no desenvolvimento de um conceito e protótipo de jogo. Durante este período, terão o apoio de mentores especialistas em diversas áreas (design de jogos, marketing e monetização, desenvolvimento, engenharia de som, entre outros apoios).
No final do 3º dia (19 de outubro, domingo), as equipas terão de submeter o seu protótipo de jogo na plataforma mundial que, posteriormente será avaliado pelo júri global. The ideas/game selected by the global jury worlwide will move on to the Incubation Stage.
This is a program developed by Startup Madeira, within the scope of the activities of the eGames Lab consortium, com o apoio do Digital Valley Portugal.
Dates & Location:
We, GameJam+ Madeira will be held between 17 e 19 de outubro. Trata-se de uma maratona intensiva (48h) de desenvolvimento de jogos que tem início às 18h do dia 17 de outubro e termina às 20h do dia 19 de outubro.
It will take place at the Startup Madeira, Campus da Penteada (Piso -1).
Goals:
- Leverage the region's video game and creative ecosystem;
- Expand the global network in this industry;
- Involve the student and local community in an intensive video game marathon;
- Provide a space for networking and sharing between participants, local organizations and national and international mentors;
- Designing an innovative strategic future;
- Support teams in developing new ideas;
- Foster collaboration and joint intervention between the ecosystem, companies in the sector and invited guests.

A inscrição para participar no GameJam+ Madeira está aberta a toda a comunidade, desde estudantes, programadores, profissionais, nómadas digitais, curiosos, entre outros.
A participação na GameJam+ Madeira será feita em equipas (entre 2 a 5 pessoas) ou individualmente (o participante será incluído numa equipa). It is important to have some interest in the gaming and creative ecosystem.
As refeições (almoço, lanche da tarde e jantar) serão fornecidas pela organização, pelo que os participantes não terão quaisquer custos com as mesmas.
Requirements:
- Os participantes têm de trazer os seus próprios computadores.
About GameJam+
The GameJamPlus is the largest game development marathon and acceleration process of the world.One of the main goals of this initiative is to develop the best games into marketable products of interest to investors, in a great journey led by varios players from the world's creative economy ecosystem.
Between 2017 e 2024, it reached around 14 mil participantes, em mais de 100 cidades e 50 países. Num total, e no âmbito da GameJamPlus, foram já desenvolvidos 2 mil jogos.
Esta iniciativa engloba um conjunto de etapas, desde a preparação para a realização do GameJamPlus nos diversos países e cidades, à incubação das melhores ideias de jogo, eliminatórias continentais, momentos de aceleração do jogo e uma grande final mundial. Toda a GameJamPlus prolonga-se num período de 8 meses.

01. Scope and general information
GameJam+ Madeira é uma maratona intensiva de 48h de desenvolvimento de jogos, desenvolvida no âmbito da iniciativa global GameJamPlus.
The GameJam+ Madeira decorrerá simultaneamente com todas as GameJam's organizadas em todo o mundo. Às 19h, de 6ªfeira, dia 17 de outubro, a organização irá revelar o tema e as linhas orientadoras que as equipas terão de ter em conta aquando o desenvolvimento do jogo.
Between 17 de outubro (6ªfeira) e october 19th (domingo), as equipas irão focar-se no desenvolvimento de um conceito de jogo e protótipo de jogo. Durante este período, terão o apoio de mentores especialistas em diversas áreas (design de jogos, marketing e monetização, desenvolvimento, engenharia de som, entre outros).
No final do 3º dia (19 de outubro, domingo), as equipas terão de submeter o seu jogo na plataforma mundial que, posteriormente será avaliado pelo júri global, a ser disponibilizada no dia da submissão.
As ideias/jogos selecionados pelo júri global poderão passar para à fase de incubação, se as equipas o pretenderem.

03. Participants
A inscrição para participar no GameJam+ está aberta a toda a comunidade, desde estudantes, programadores, profissionais, nómadas digitais, curiosos, entre outros.
Participation in GameJam+ Madeira será feita em equipas [entre 2 a 5 pessoas]. Se se pretender inscrever em caracter individual, será alocada a uma equipa que tenha menos de 5 elementos.
It is important to have some interest in the gaming and creative ecosystem.
Requirements:
- Participants have to bring their own computers/laptops.

A inscrição nesta iniciativa deve ser efetuada através do preenchimento do formulário correspondente [ver here].
A iniciativa está limitada à participação de 40 pessoas, and the organization may close registrations after reaching the established limit.
Participation in this initiave não tem qualquer custo para os participantes.

Calendário de inscrição: 19 de setembro > 10 de outubro de 2025. Caso, se atinjam as 40 inscrições antes do dia 10 de outubro, informamos que a organização procederá o termo das mesmas antes da data indicada.

It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure the intellectual property rights of their idea, if they so wish. The organization does not guarantee the originality or protection of published ideas, projects or concepts.
08. Data Protection
- Candidates accept the collection and processing of their personal data by Startup Madeira, the business incubator responsible for promoting projects and events in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, industrial property and support for new business initiatives in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, for the purposes of participating and the development of Game Jam Madeira.
- Within the scope of GameJam Madeira, the following personal data of participants will be processed: name, cell phone, email and job.
- The data referred to in the previous paragraph will be used by Startup Madeira for all purposes necessary for the development of the GameJam Madeira program, and may only be transmitted to third parties for purposes related to said program, namely for operational and financing control and execution and for carrying out all mandatory audits under legal or regulatory terms.
- The data will be kept by Startup Madeira for the mandatory verification period.
- Without prejudice to the provisions of the preceding paragraphs, applicants may authorize (in their respective registration) that the data provided by them within the scope of GameJam Madeira be used by Startup Madeira within the scope of other programs that this entity is carrying out or will develop in the future, committing this entity, in this case, to keep this data for a maximum period of ten years.
- Candidates authorize the use of their image, voice, photograph and/or video, collected on the platform and/or at events held under GameJam Madeira, for the purpose of promoting and disseminating the ideas developed, anywhere in the world and by any means.
- All holders of personal data provided within the scope of GameJam Madeira enjoy the following rights with regard to the processing of their personal data:
- Right to information: data subjects have the right to know the identity and contact details of the entities responsible for processing their personal data, the purpose and legal basis of the processing, the period for which the data will be stored and the recipients of the data, all of which information is set out in this Regulation.
- Right of access: whenever requested, the data subject can obtain confirmation as to whether their personal data is processed by Startup Madeira, as well as the terms in force for such processing. You also have the right to receive a free copy of your personal data being processed; however, if you request more than one copy, you may be charged administrative costs from the second request onwards.
- Right to rectification: whenever the data subject considers that their personal data is incomplete or inaccurate, they may request that it be rectified, updated or completed, and Startup Madeira undertakes to rectify or update it within a maximum period of fifteen days.
- Right to object and right to erasure: The data subject may object to their data continuing to be used by Startup Madeira, or may request that their data be deleted from the respective databases, provided that they are not essential to the development of the ongoing programs; since some data are required by law for the pursuit of GameJam Madeira, the data subject may only object to their use or demand their deletion after the program has ceased, i.e. when the personal data are no longer necessary for the purpose for which they were collected and processed.
- Right to restriction of processing: the data subject may request the restriction of processing if they contest the accuracy of their personal data for a period of time that allows the entity responsible to verify its accuracy, if they consider the processing to be unlawful, if they consider that Startup Madeira no longer needs their personal data, or if they have objected to the processing.
- Right to portability: the data subject may ask Startup Madeira to provide them with the personal data they have provided, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and/or they may ask for their data to be transmitted to a third party, provided this is technically possible.
- Right to be notified in the event of a breach of your personal data: in the event of any breach of your personal data that may constitute a high risk to the rights and freedoms of the data subject, Startup Madeira undertakes to notify the data subject of this occurrence as soon as possible.
- Right to lodge complaints with the supervisory authority: if you wish to lodge a complaint regarding matters related to the processing of your personal data, the data subject may do so with the National Data Protection Commission, the competent supervisory authority in Portugal, accessible at cnpd.pt.
- Startup Madeira undertakes to ensure and respect all these rights of the holders of personal data.
- To exercise any of these rights, the data subject may contact the person responsible at Startup Madeira for this purpose at info@startupmadeira.eu.
- Data subjects give their express consent to the processing of their personal data for the purposes referred to in paragraphs 1, 5 and 6 of the current regulation, which ensures the lawfulness of the processing, under the terms of Article 6(1)(a) and (b) of the GDPR, and provides a legal basis for the processing.
- In the event that it becomes necessary to process any additional personal data for the aforementioned purposes or for any other purposes, Startup Madeira will always take care to communicate this to the data subjects, requesting their consent where applicable, and again providing them with all the information necessary for them to understand the reason for and conditions of the processing.
- Startup Madeira will never use the personal data processed to make automated decisions or define profiles.
- Any disputes arising from the validity, interpretation or execution of these Regulations, or which are related to the collection, processing or transmission of personal data, must be submitted to Portuguese jurisdiction, more specifically to the Madeira District Court, without prejudice to the applicable mandatory legal rules.
- Startup Madeira is committed to guaranteeing the protection and security of the personal data made available to it, having approved and implemented strict technical and organizational rules in this regard, in order to protect the personal data made available to it against its dissemination, loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorized processing or access, as well as against any other form of unlawful processing; in addition, it undertakes to comply with all legal and regulatory provisions that govern, or will govern, the privacy and protection of personal data, and undertakes to keep all its rules, practices and IT equipment up to date in order to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of the personal data it processes.
- If, and whenever, there are changes to the processing of your personal data, or if it is necessary to amend this Regulation, Startup Madeira will inform all data subjects and collect new consents.
09. Confidentiality
- Participants must include only public information on the form, excluding all confidential information.
- All members involved in the organization of GameJam+ Madeira undertake not to misuse any document or information contained in the application, as well as to ensure the security of personal data and respect for the data protection policy, and safeguard in their actions respect for the authorship of ideas and projects.

A inscrição nesta iniciativa é feita através de um google forms que podes encontrar no link abaixo.
A GameJam+ Madeira será realizado em in teams [2 to 5 people], so gather your friends and colleagues and challenge yourself.
Observation: Poderás fazer a tua registration de forma individual. A organização depois irá inserir-te numa equipa.
Limit of participants: A iniciativa está limitada a 40 participantes, podendo a organização encerrar as inscrições quando o limite for atingido.
Costs: A participação não acarreta custos sendo totalmente gratuita. As refeições (almoço, lanche da tarde e jantar) serão fornecidas pela organização, pelo que os participantes não terão quaisquer custos com as mesmas.
Fim das inscrições: Registration ends on 14 de outubro (tendo em conta o número limite de participantes inscritos).
