Startup Madeira has been recognised under Europe’s Leading Start-up Hubs 2026 a Financial Times ranking, featuring on the list of 180 hubs from 25 European countries that stand out most in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.

This ranking, developed in partnership with Statista and Sifted, assesses European hubs based on criteria such as the quality of incubation and acceleration programmes, mentoring and specialised support, infrastructure, access to funding, the impact of startups, and recommendations from alumni, investors and academics.

In Portugal, 12 hubs were recognised, including Startup Madeira, Unicorn Factory Lisboa, Lispolis, The Fintech House, Startup Braga, Build Up Labs, Startup Leiria, Business Factory, Canopy Community, Casa do Impacto, UPTEC and BGI, reinforcing the country’s growing relevance in the European innovation and technology landscape.
